New Delhi: Security was heightened across several schools in the national capital on Monday after they received bomb threat emails, officials confirmed.

According to Delhi Police, Delhi Public School (DPS) Dwarka, Modern Convent School, and ShreeRam World School in Sector 10, Dwarka, received threats from an unidentified email ID. As a precaution, the schools were swiftly evacuated while police personnel and bomb disposal squads conducted extensive checks on the premises.

Though the past two such threats in the city had turned out to be hoaxes, authorities said Monday’s alerts were being taken seriously, with all safety protocols strictly followed to ensure the security of students and staff. Further details on the incident are awaited.

This is not the first time Delhi schools have been targeted. In July, multiple institutions, including Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar, the Sovereign School in Rohini, Modern International School in Dwarka, and Heritage School in Rohini, received similar emails. Security teams, including the Fire Department and bomb disposal units, were deployed in response.

Richmond Global School Principal Moupali Mitra recalled how they had immediately alerted the Commissioner of Police after receiving a threat email. “We received the mail at 10:52 AM and informed the Commissioner by 10:58 AM. The bomb squad and cyber teams arrived promptly. Every corner of the school was checked, and it was declared safe. Some anti-social elements are spreading such rumours, and we must stand united against them,” she told ANI.

On July 18, three Delhi University colleges,  IP College for Women, Hindu College, and Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC),  also received bomb threat emails, police confirmed.
