Navi Mumbai: Bharati Vidyapeeth&rsquo;s Institute of Management Studies and Research (BVIMSR), Belapur, organised their annual management fest, &lsquo;Shikhar-2014&rsquo; on a grand scale for the first time. The event was celebrated with great enthusiasm to commemorate the golden jubilee of Bharati Vidyapeeth.

This year witnessed a huge attendance from management students, with more than 50 colleges participating, both from Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The three-day event was held from January 20&nbsp;to 22. Shikhar has been organised with great enthusiasm by the students of BVIMSR since 2002. This year, various cine stars were&nbsp;invited as guests to judge the&nbsp;programmes. The event was inaugurated by Mukesh Khanna, noted celebrity, and Ashok Kumar Sharma, police commissioner of Navi Mumbai. The fest included management programmes that highlighting Indian culture, sports and academic brilliance.

After the inauguration on the first day, events like debate, and a seminar on stock market &lsquo;Marketix&rsquo; were conducted. The second day saw sports activities like box cricket, football and debugging. The final day of the fest had dance performances like &lsquo;Step-up&rsquo; based on themes like shadow dance, a battle of the bands and a fashion show, and concluded with a rock concert and a DJ performance. Speaking on the event, Dr Anjali Kahlse, the chief organiser of the fest said, &ldquo;We are celebrating the fest on a large platform to showcase and encourage the talent of management students. We hope this also highlights our college&rsquo;s strong infrastructure.&rdquo; More than 72 students were volunteers for the event. &ldquo;As it was organised on a large scale, it is usually difficult to encourage people to participate. However, we received positive response from other colleges in terms of participation that allowed smooth coordination and helped us give our best efforts&rdquo;, said Nikhil Gupta, volunteer and student of second year MMS from BVIMSR College.
