Six passengers of the 3049 Howrah-Amritsar Express were injured as armed robbers assaulted them and looted cash and valuables worth about Rs 1.5 lakh near Simultala railway station in Bihar's Jamui district Sunday night, official sources said.

The dacoits numbering about 25 reportedly boarded the train at either Jashidih or Lahaban station when it had stopped there. They looted passengers in one AC bogey and a sleeper coach and hit with butts of rifles and pistols those who resisted, official sources said, adding six persons were injured in the assault.
