Union home minister P Chidambaram has directed state home ministry to be on high alert in the wake of the polls.

The minister discussed security issues with Home minister V S Acharya and other officials in Bangalore.
He advised state government to equip itself, as attacks to disturb poll process can't be ruled out in state.
