State mulling 100-kmph speed limit on E-way

A special committee formed to review state's highways is considering increasing the speed limit from the current 80 kmph; authorities to fine drivers who don't comply with speed restrictions
With the state government contemplating various measures to reduce the number of accidents on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, a proposal is under consideration to allow motorists to officially cruise at 100 kmph, after withdrawing the current speed restriction of 80 kmph.
