State to distribute Rs 800 cr worth of grains each month

Over 7 crore people across the state stand to benefit from the UPA's food security scheme once it is launched on Dec 1; those unable to avail of the benefits will get food allowance

The UPA government’s ambitious food security programme that is going to cover 7.17 crore people across the state will cost Rs 800 crore to the exchequer. In addition, food security allowance would be paid to those beneficiaries who do not receive food grains during a particular month.
