Lakhs of students who are gearing up for the Herculean task of admission to first year junior college (FYJC) have reason to smile. This year, they will not have to wait to receive their mark sheets before they submit their applications — in a bid to speed up the process, the state education department has ordered colleges to accept the downloaded versions of mark sheets as soon as results are declared online on June 13, so that admissions can be completed as soon as possible.

Smile please! While printouts of downloaded results will be accepted, school officials will be checking these against the original mark sheets before they finalise a student’s admission. Representation pic
