The Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences Economiques et Commerciales (AIESEC), Navi Mumbai a student-run organisation for student exchange with the aim of promoting leadership development in students through entrepreneurship opportunities recently organised &lsquo;Global Village 2013&rsquo; at a mall in Navi Mumbai. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/may/AISEC-members.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 558px;" /> Around 70 AISEC members participated in the event, which has been made bi-annual from this year Global Village was hosted by AIESEC, Navi Mumbai, for the third time in the satellite city. This cultural event was held to help locals understand the value of various internship opportunities by letting them interact with people of various nationalities so that they can gain first-hand information of different countries and traditions. The nature of the event was such that the participating audience became aware about countries culturally, thus breaking old stereotypes and embracing the world, celebrating global citizenship. Stalls were set up representing countries such as France, Germany, Egypt, Cameroon, Nigeria, Poland, Ukraine and others. Anuj Kuchkian, president of AIESEC, Navi Mumbai, said, &ldquo;This event was started globally and we adopted it for our city a few years ago. In fact, this is the first year that we would be making the event bi-annual. Global village saw representatives of nine countries from across the world including Indonesia, USA, Ivory Coast and Russia.&rdquo; Students as interns from 10 different countries enthralled the spectators with the cultural presentation of their country along with some art forms typical to their respective countries. They exhibited their culture through music, dance, costumes and a lot of souvenirs. Having an approximate strength of 70 AIESEC members present at the venue, the AIESEC jive (impromptu dance performances) was one of the highlights of the event. The event also witnessed a few interesting performances like beat boxing and rapping which took it to another level. Global Village 2013 was backed by two pre-events, an IPL night and a flash mob. The Flash mob attracted a crowd of almost 70-80 people with onlookers joining the students in between.u00a0
