A passenger on an MSRTC bus to Pune called the cops when he suspected that a wailing child who was with a couple had been kidnapped; when cops arrived, it turned out to be a false alarm

Around 2 pm on Wednesday, a semi-luxury bus run by the MSRTC departed from Mumbai Central towards Pune (Swargate). At 2.30 pm, it reached Dadar (East), where a couple boarded the bus. They had a two-and-half-year old girl with them. Another passenger Ashok Gadre also got in. The girl was crying continuously, calling out “Daddy, daddy”. Gadre, in his late 40s, found this suspicious. Text: Vinay Dalvi
