Volunteers of Ganpati mandal, which erected a temple illegally on land belonging to PMC close to Dagadusheth Halwai Temple, have a standoff with cops when told to remove the structure
Tension prevailed near Shrimant Dagadusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple in Budhwar Peth area, after volunteers of a Ganesh mandal refused to remove the illegal makeshift structure yesterday. Tempers flared after the Vishrambaug police — as part of the drive to ensure that that the Dagadusheth Halwai temple was not susceptible to a terror threat — asked that a makeshift temple erected without permission barely 200 metres from the iconic place of worship, be removed.u00a0
