A photo exhibition captures the history of jazz in Germany

Jazz fans in the city have another reason to rejoice. Not only will they get to witness a fine jazz performance by German act Jazzkomplott but also get to gape at photographs that capture the history of jazz music in Germany.

The exhibition has been put together by the Goethe-Institut in collaboration with Dr. Wolfram Knauer, Director of the Jazz Institute in Darmstadt, Germany. The exhibition will look at jazz during Hitler's rule during the 20s and its evolution after the war. During the 60s, jazz finally found freedom from American influences in this genre. The photographs also capture the contemporary jazz scene in Germany today.

Jazzkomoplott will be performing on December 7, 6.30 pm at the inauguration

At: Goethe Institut, CMH Road
On: from December 7 to 17, 2 to 7.30 pm (Monday to Saturday)
Call: 2520 5305
