Former Maharashtra Minister Eknath Khadse on Wednesday approached the Jalgaon Police and complained about valuables and important documents missing from his bungalow following a theft at his home, reported the PTI.
The Jalgaon Police in Maharashtra have registered a case for the theft of valuables worth Rs 6.2 lakh from former minister Eknath Khadse's bungalow, while he claimed that some important documents related to corruption too were missing, according to the PTI.
A burglary was reported at the NCP (SP) leader's bungalow in Ramanand Nagar area of Jalgaon district on Monday following which the police have launched a probe into the matter.
As per the FIR, cash, gold jewellery worth Rs 6.2 lakh were stolen from Khadse's house, said a police official.
Eknath Khadse on Wednesday again approached Jalgaon Police and gave a complaint about theft of important CDs, pen drives and documents, he added, as per the PTI.
Speaking to reporters, Khadse said that half the CDs in the house were missing. Less important documents in a ground floor room were not removed or stolen, but more important documents which he had obtained through the Right to Information (RTI) Act were missing following the theft, he claimed.
Those documents were related to corruption cases and irregularities, the Sharad Pawar-led NCP (SP ) leader said.
Unidentified persons have allegedly broken into his bungalow in Jalgaon district, officials had earlier said on Tuesday.
A man working at the bungalow, located at Ramanand Nagar in Jalgaon, found its lock broken and household items scattered on Tuesday morning. He then informed Khadse and also alerted the police, an official said, reported PTI.
A team from the Ramanand Nagar Police Station rushed to the spot and launched a probe into the incident, he said.
The house was locked as Khadse primarily resides in the Muktainagar area of Jalgaon, the official said, reported PTI.
The investigations into the matter were going on, the police officials said.
Earlier this month, a robbery was reported at a petrol pump owned by Union minister Raksha Khadse, the daughter-in-law of Eknath Khadse, in Muktainagar, the news agency reported.
