Does the second outlet of WTF! manage to duplicate its success in its Andheri outlet? Well, just about

Six months after the opening of the first WTF! outlet in Khar, Versova's latest addition on the pub scene is located next to the newly opened Costa Coffee.

Much like the first, there's a courtyard, a bar area, and an American diner-like section. The garden-like courtyard is a good place to enjoy a pint on a typical Mumbai evening. Inside, moody lighting wafts over the bar and the booths, and classic film posters serenade the walls.

Back to the table
WTF! does a good Bloody Mary (Rs 200), one that's refreshingly light and zesty, garnished with seasoned salt on its rim. Yum! The best side on the menu is the WTF! Fries (Rs 135); golden and crisp on the outside, but light and moist on the inside. The secret spice mix adds a unique twist to this dish, which is served with an interesting variation on the spicy mustard.

Next, the BBQ Pork Spare Ribs (Rs 170) were too tender, as the meat fell off the bones before it could be devoured. We're sure no pit masters would have approved of the overpowering flavour of the BBQ sauce, which numbed the basic sweet and lightly smokey flavours that should have typically been part of this dish. It was also missing a dash of spice that would have better complimented the ribs.

Braving on, we went with the server's recommendation: Jesse's Kerala Beef (Rs 160). The classic dish was a pre-marinated steak quickly fried in butter and then flamb ufffded with certain sauces. The tender meat was cut into tiny pieces, and served with an interesting sauce that perfectly complimented the beef.

For the vegetarians, there's the Spicy Chilli Cheese Croquettes (Rs 140), which are a truly magical combination of potatoes, garlic, chilli and cheese, dipped in egg and milk and coated in breadcrumbs; each bite carried the explosive flavour of melted butter. Delicious! And, second only to the WTF! fries.

Sour note
If we had one grouse, it's that the portions aren't generous enough, and left us with an unsatisfying 'half-full' feeling. There are also no main courses on offer.

As far as the service goes, the staff tends to get overwhelmed on a busy day. But if a drink served up in style is what you fancy, then look no further than WTF!s relaxed ambience, which gets duplicated from its first outlet. Though if, like us, you crave sides that are as good as the drinks, then stopping by here might have you return home with an expressions that screams, WTF!
