The Tamil Nadu court issued a warrant against PDP Chief and Bangalore serial blast accused Abdul Nasar Madani, following a request from the Coimbatore police seeking custody of the accused in connection with the Coimbatore Press club blast case. Madani who is presently lodged in Central jail, is accused in the 2002 case where bombs were recovered from a STD booth near the press club. <img alt="" src="/imagedata/2011/oct/Abdul.jpg" border="5" /> Investigations conducted by the Coimbatore police led to Madani, but by then he was in the custody of the Bangalore police. A chargesheet was filed by the Special Investigating Team seeking custody of Madani, following which the court issued a warrant to secure his custody by October 29, 2011. The accused, who recently underwent surgery, has been using a wheel chair and was examined by a team of doctors to ascertain whether he is physically fit to travel. However, jail authorities said that Madani may not be sent to Tamil Nadu due to security reasons. "We are planning to request to the court for a videoconference to avoid further complications," said a prison official. u00a0 Meanwhile, Inspector General of Prison V S Raja said that they have no information on Madani's body warrant.
