Just a month after the traffic police department formed a special cell to keep a tab on vehicle thieves and chain snatchers, the four-member team held an offender who was wanted for his involvement in numerous chain-snatching cases and a murder at Khadki yesterday.u00a0 The arrested accused was identified as Vishal Nimbhore (24). He has several cases registered against him at Saswad, Warje, Hadapsar and Khadki police station. <img alt="" src="http://images.mid-day.com/2013/mar/snatcher.jpg" style="width: 500px; height: 312px;" /> In police net: Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Vishwas Pandhare (in uniform) along with the team of four constables that nabbed notorious chain snatcher Vishal Nimbhoreu00a0 Nimbhore was arrested after traffic constables Amol Sarde, Shankar Kumbhar, Gajanan Solwankar and Surendra Kolage stopped him for questioning near All Saints Church yesterday morning. &ldquo;We were patrolling the area when we spotted a man moving around on his motorcycle in a suspicious manner. We intercepted him and asked for his and bike details. But he started giving vague answers. He didn&rsquo;t even have proper papers for the bike. But when we questioned him thoroughly, he gave his real name, Vishal Nimbhore,&rdquo; Kumbhar said. Kumbhar then contacted the Crime Branch and was informed that Nimbhore was wanted for chain-snatchings, robberies and a murder, in the jurisdiction of city and rural police. &ldquo;After receiving the information, we once again quizzed him and he spilled the beans. He gave us details of crimes he committed and his accomplices,&rdquo; Kumbhar said. He also confessed to killing a passer-by, with the help of his accomplices, in Bopdev Ghat near Saswad to rob the victim. Nimbhore said most of the snatchings and robberies were executed in Warje-Malwadi, Khadaki and Hadapsar. Sarde said the motorcycle Nimbhore was riding was stolen, which he claimed belonged to his relative when he was questioning initially. &ldquo;He along with his accomplices would use vehicles with fake number plates whenever would go to commit crime so that public and police could be hoodwinked,&rdquo; Sarde said. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Vishwas Pandhare said four young personnel were appointed to form the special cell, and the motive was to keep a tab on stolen vehicles and chain-snatchers in the city. &ldquo;Sarde has a knack to hunt stolen vehicles by identifying fake number plates. He was appointed so that his talent could be used. The special cell has proved its worth by nabbing a wanted accused,&rdquo; Pandhare said.u00a0
