<h2>Couple privately arranged decoration</h2>
According to South Central Railway (SCR), the incident took place on Train No. 11002 Nandigram Express on July 6, 2026.
Officials said a couple <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-train-updates-central-railway-launches-two-weekly-trains-between-mumbai-and-nanded-check-details-here-23638676" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">travelling in a First AC</a> coupe had privately hired an online decorator to decorate their compartment before the journey.
SCR stated that the decorator entered the train coach without authorisation. Railway officials described the incident as a serious security lapse because only authorised persons are permitted to enter reserved railway coaches.
The incident came to light after videos of the decorated compartment circulated widely on social media.
<h2>Ticket checker suspended</h2>
Following the incident, the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/central-railway-deploys-1100-workers-to-restore-mumbai-pune-rail-route-after-landslides-amid-heavy-rains-23638853" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">railway administration</a> placed the Ticket Checker (TTE) on suspension.
Officials have also ordered a detailed departmental inquiry to determine how the unauthorised decorator was allowed to enter the coach.
Railway authorities said appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of the departmental inquiry.
