Two people were killed and seven others injured when a building collapsed in Kanjhaval area of outer Delhi on Sunday afternoon. A fire brigade official said that the matter was reported at around noon.

"It was a two storey building. Work was on for adding another floor to the structure. The building could not bear the weight and came crashing down. The labourers who were working there got trapped," said the fire official. Au00a0 neighbour called the PCR to report the matter.

The official said that they immediately sent five fire engines to the spot to rescue the people. The people who were trapped inside the debris were fished out and rushed to nearby hospitals. "We are considering lodging an FIR against the contractor and building's owner," said the official.
