Two pillion riders killed in Mulund

Deceased were riding triple seat on motorcycle when car ferrying call centre employees rammed into their bike on Dumping Road; bike rider escapes with bruised hands, legs

Adding to the growing number of fatal accidents in the city, two persons died in a road mishap in Mulund at 5.30 am yesterday. The deceased were identified as Rakesh Verma (21) and Akash Gaikwad (23). While Verma died on the spot, doctors of the nearby M K Agarwal Hospital declared Gaikwad dead on arrival.

Police officials said the accident occurred after a vehicle ferrying call centre employees dashed into the motorcycle on which three people were travelling, including the deceased. While the car was on its way to Mulund Checknaka, the bikers had left their respective residences on Tuesday evening and appeared to be heading home.
