With a score of 98.2%, Priya Jayadev Nair and Ashley Marc Castelino from St Mary&rsquo;s School have made the city proud by securing the third rank in the national ICSE merit list.

<img src="http://images.mid-day.com/images/2014/jul/Ashley-Marc.gif" alt="" /> Icing on cake For the Nair family residing in Kondhwa area, the news of Priya figuring in the national toppers list came as icing on the cake. They were under the impression that Priya was a topper of her school only. &ldquo;Oh, that&rsquo;s great! I am very excited. I was expecting good marks but being among the national toppers is simply great. I had been tense the past few days,&rdquo; an ecstatic Priya told mid-day. Priya likes biology and mathematics and plans to pursue higher studies in areas where both these subjects find use. &ldquo;I will continue with both biology and maths and have plans to pursue bio-engineering or bio-chemistry afterwards,&rdquo; added Priya, whose father Jayadeo is a computer engineer and mother Seeta is a doctor. Surprised When mid-day spoke to Ashley and asked him if he was expecting this result, he said, &ldquo;I am very happy. No I wasn&rsquo;t expecting that I would come third in the country,&rdquo; Ashley said. Asked about his future plans, he said, &ldquo;I have decided about junior college but intend to take the final call on further studies only after Class 12.&rdquo; A proud Sujata Mallic Kumar, Principal of St Mary&rsquo;s School, said, &ldquo;I am extremely delighted for the children. The staff of the school works really hard throughout the year. Many congratulations to both the toppers.&rdquo; Darian Hosidar Daji (97.6%) and Nidhi Suresh Jain, Meghana Kant and Shaunak Kulkarni (all 97.4%) are some of the other achievers in St Mary&rsquo;s School. A top ICSE official in New Delhi confirmed that both the students had secured the third rank in the country. &ldquo;Four students &ndash; Shreyas Sudharaman (Bangalore), Apoorva Narayanswami (Bangalore), Siddhartha Shankar Kohli (Jamshedpur) and Rishabh Raj (Patiyala) have stood first in the country with a score of 98.6%. There are a total of nine students on rank 2 and both Priya and Ashley of St Mary&rsquo;s School in Pune secured the third rank in the ICSE national merit list,&rdquo; said the official. Cent percent Among other schools, St Helena&rsquo;s School has got a 100% result. With 96.6%, Luluna Rakla is the school topper while Kritika Chavan (96.5%) and Sanjana Kothari (96.3%) have also scored good marks, informed Bijaya Selji, Principal of St Helena.
Out of the 71 students that appeared at Vidya Pratishthan&rsquo;s Magarpatta City Public School, as many as 20 scored above 90% marks, while 24 scored between 80 and 90%. All the three branches of Bishop&rsquo;s School also got a 100% result. Sankalp Sangle (97.4%) and Soham Shah (96.4%) are among the toppers at Bishop&rsquo;s Camp branch. From Kalyaninagar branch, Gayatri Kethraman and Anjali Suresan (both 97.8%) are the toppers and Himanshu Aswani and Kavish Shah (both 96.6%) have topped in the Undri branch.
