Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spoke to a crowd after the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, expressing profound feelings. Adityanath stated that the ritual marked the end of a 500-year wait and that the entire nation had become "Ram maye," implying a strong devotion to Lord Ram, according to a PTI report.
He remarked, It is an emotional moment for all of us and it has come after a 500-year wait. The whole nation has become Ram maye (immersed in the devotion of Lord Ram). It seems that we have arrived in 'Treta Yug'."

The important event, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and seen by millions around the country, featured the consecration of the new Ram Lalla deity in the Ayodhya shrine. During the 'pran pratishtha' ritual, army helicopters showered flower petals over the freshly built Janmabhoomi temple, marking a watershed point in Indian political and religious history, the PTI report added.
According to the report, Prime Minister Modi, who actively engaged in the 'pran pratishtha' rites, later addressed an audience of over 8,000 people, including seers, supporters of the Ram Janmabhoomi campaign, and important figures from entertainment, sports, and business. He also intended to visit the Kuber Tila and meet with workers working on the temple's construction.
Prominent BJP leaders including as party chief JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah watched it remotely. The absence of senior Opposition leaders, who described it as an RSS-BJP event, was notable. However, Himachal Pradesh minister Vikramaditya Singh, the son of state Congress head Pratibha Singh, attended the event.
Fifty traditional musical instruments from diverse areas played a devotional "Mangal Dhwani" during the consecration ceremony, adding to the grandeur of the occasion. The run-up to the event, which took place just months before the Lok Sabha elections, saw political sparring between the ruling BJP and the opposition, with the latter labelling it an RSS-BJP event.
The consecration ceremony came after the 2019 Supreme Court verdict on the temple-mosque dispute, bringing immense religious fervour to Ayodhya. Devotees from across the country gathered in the ancient city, adorned with ceremonial gates and illuminations, creating a significant moment in India's cultural and historical narrative, the PTI report added.
