In an extremely horrific incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur district, a female patient was allegedly raped by a sanitation worker at a hospital on Monday.
The police officials, while highlighting the heinous crime, asserted that the man, who has been detained, allegedly took the 35-year-old victim to a spot by claiming doctors would be present there and raped her, as reported by the news agency PTI.
According to the police, the woman's brother-in-law was undergoing treatment at the hospital under the Kotwali police station limits when the accused manipulated her and committed the heinous crime.
The Additional Superintendent of Police (City), Devendra Kumar, said that, “On Sunday, she went to a liquor shop in the vicinity and drank alcohol, after which she fell unconscious. Later, police admitted her to the same hospital, as cited by news agency PTI.
He further highlighted that, “On Monday, the woman asked Jaishankar, a sanitation worker at the hospital, for some assistance, after which he took her to the third floor of the hospital, telling her that the doctors were there, and allegedly raped her in the toilet,” as per news agency PTI.
Following the woman's complaint, the police detained the accused, Jaishankar (25), and are interrogating him, he said.
The police official further said that a case has been registered against the accused, and the woman has been sent for a medical examination.

Furthermore, in a different incident, a 27-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly posing as an army lieutenant to deceive and rape a woman doctor working at a leading government hospital in Delhi.
Police officials asserted that the accused has been identified as Aarav Malik, a resident of Chhattarpur in south Delhi who works as a delivery agent with an e-commerce platform.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused had purchased the army uniform online from a shop in the Delhi Cantonment area, a senior police officer added while highlighting the incident.
He further asserted that the accused, who goes by the name of Malik, had no connection with the Indian Army and used the fake identity to mislead the complainant.
According to the FIR lodged at the Sarojini Nagar Enclave police station, the 27-year-old woman is a doctor working at a government hospital and met the accused through social media earlier this year.
