Updated On: 20 November, 2013 11:17 PM IST | | Neha LM Tripathi
PWD officials have estimated a Rs 69-lakh redesign, which will include shifting the premises to Nerul and state-of-the-art facilities
The Deputy Regional Transport Office (RTO) in Vashi is undergoing a massive redesign and as per the new plans, the office will be shifted to Nerul. Officials hope the redesign and the new facilities to be offered at the new office will make their work easier.
In 2007, officials had leased a 1,200 sq metre plot of land in Nerul, Sector 13 from the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO). Additionally, two adjacent plots of land, measuring 8,000 square metre and 5,000 square metre, have also been leased, which will be used as the RTO’s new training and testing ground.
Officials said that now the plot of land will house the new RTO. The redesign -- which will be handled by the Public Works Department -- has been estimated at a budget of Rs 69 lakh and is now awaiting the government’s approval.
