And they have improved the detection of flu cases from five per cent to more than 20 per cent. Now, the government has decided to install thermal scanners at other international airports as well. But these will be procured and installed on emergency basis," said a health ministry official, requesting anonymity. Meanwhile, health officials at Delhi airport have requested the airport and airlines staff to remain cautious. "We have asked them to report immediately if they develop flu-like symptoms," said Delhi Airport Health Officer Suchet Singh. Officials of Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) the joint venture company modernising IGI Airport - have claimed they are well prepared to combat swine flu. "At IGI Airport, we have all the modern equipment and facilities to deal with the flu and have a quarantine ward as well,'' said a DIAL spokesperson.
