Patna: Muslim cleric Maulana Wali Rahmani on Wednesday said mob lynching incidents in the country are like terror acts, and demanded strict punishment to accused.

"Mob lynching incidents are like terror acts. It should be treated with seriousness and accused should be given strict punishment. Terror should not be permitted and accepted in any society," said Rahmani, head of the Imarat-e-Sharia, a Muslim body in Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha.
