You might have heard about advance booking to watch a movie or a table to dine in a restaurant. But here in Delhi, those who wanted to tie rakhi on Raksha Bandhan in Tihar Jail will also have to make an advance booking for their visit.
Jail authorities say such a move has been initiated because among thousands who visit the jail on Raksha Bandhan, many are unwanted and the jail becomes crowded and unsafe.u00a0
"Nearly 16000-17000 women visitors are recorded every year on rakhi in Tihar. So, our purpose is to regulate the number of visitors," said Sunil Gupta, spokesperson Tihar Jail authorities in Delhi.
