Surprisingly, the website could be accessed overseas and those with contacts there could get their results; the ones in city couldn't reach the site and were left stranded while the authorities struggled to determine the cause of the glitch
In yet another example highlighting state authorities’ incompetence regarding the web, lakhs of Std XII students across the state couldn’t view their online scores in the Engineering-Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (MT-CET) that were supposed to be released yesterday morning after the website crashed following over 2 lakh hits.
The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) of Maharashtra uploaded the MT-CET result on its website at midnight on Tuesday. The official timing of the online results was 11 am yesterday. However, after getting around 2 lakh hits in the morning, the DTE server crashed and the situation remained unchanged till five in the evening.
