India on Tuesday strongly condemned the attacks on two commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz, calling them acts of violence against seafarers that threaten the free and safe navigation of international waterways. New Delhi also lodged a "strong protest" with Iran after one Indian seafarer was killed and several others were injured in the attacks.

In an official statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said it had summoned the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Iran in New Delhi to register India's protest over the strikes on MT Al Bahiyah and MT Mombasa.
