Panic prevailed in a girls school in West Bengal after a grenade that was being defused in a nearby police station exploded, settling off a melee in which some students were injured, none seriously, police said. Police said the grenade was found laying in an empty ground beside the Haldibari Girls High School in Jalpaiguri district's Haldibari on November 15.
