<p>Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Nitin Nabin on Monday said the party accepts the mandate delivered by voters in the recent assembly bypolls and will carry out a "thorough introspection" of its defeats in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/bihar-bypoll-results-prashant-kishor-wrests-bankipur-seat-from-bjp-after-three-decades-23643022" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Bankipur in Bihar</a> and Datia in Madhya Pradesh.</p>
<p>The BJP suffered setbacks in two of the three assembly bypolls, while retaining the Manjalpur assembly constituency in Gujarat.</p>
<p>In a statement posted on X, Nabin said the party would carefully analyse the outcomes in the two constituencies where it lost and continue working to strengthen public confidence.</p>
<p>"We accept the mandate received in today's three assembly by-elections.</p>
<p>"We will conduct a thorough introspection of the election results in both these areas with complete seriousness, and with renewed energy and determination, we will continue to go among the people and work tirelessly to further strengthen their trust," the BJP chief said.</p>
<h2>Setbacks for BJP in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh</h2>
<p>The BJP lost the Bankipur assembly seat in Bihar to <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/prashant-kishor-moves-ec-alleges-police-detained-jan-suraaj-workers-before-bankipur-bypoll--23642890" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor</a>, marking a significant electoral setback for the ruling party in the state.</p>
<p>The Bankipur constituency was previously represented by Nitin Nabin, who vacated the seat after resigning as an MLA following his appointment to a national role within the BJP, necessitating the bypoll.</p>
<p>The party also lost the Datia assembly constituency in Madhya Pradesh, adding to its challenges in the latest round of by-elections.</p>
<p>The bypoll results are expected to be reviewed internally as the BJP assesses the factors behind the defeats and prepares its strategy for future electoral contests.</p>
<h2>BJP retains Manjalpur seat in Gujarat</h2>
<p>Despite the losses in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, the BJP retained the Manjalpur assembly constituency in Gujarat's Vadodara district.</p>
<p>The party's candidate, Satish Govindbhai Patel, defeated Congress candidate and former minister Bhikhabhai Rabari by a margin of 30,630 votes, ensuring that the seat remained with the BJP.</p>
<p>The victory provided some relief for the party amid the mixed results across the three assembly bypolls.</p>
<h2>Nabin thanks voters and party workers</h2>
<p>Nabin expressed gratitude to the voters of the Manjalpur assembly constituency for supporting the BJP.</p>
<p>"We extend our warm congratulations to all the dedicated workers and office-bearers of the BJP for this victory," the BJP president added.</p>
<p>He also thanked party workers for their efforts during the election campaign and reiterated the BJP's commitment to engaging with the public following the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/datia-bypoll-results-congress-retains-seat-mp-cm-mohan-yadav-says-bjp-accepts-peoples-mandate-23643035" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">bypoll results</a>.</p>
<h2>Party to focus on rebuilding voter confidence</h2>
<p>The BJP leadership indicated that the outcomes in Bankipur and Datia would be examined in detail as part of its internal review process.</p>
<p>According to Nabin, the party intends to use the findings from its assessment to strengthen its outreach and reconnect with voters in the affected constituencies. The BJP said it would continue engaging with the public while working to reinforce trust and improve its performance in future elections.</p>
