Members of opposing Navratri mandals clash with one another; four teenagers fight for life in hospital

Activists from two opposing Navratri mandals clashed with each other resulting in a youth being brutally stabbed while his three friends were injured at Shastri Nagar in Pimpri last night around 11.15pm.

Rahul Nikalje (18), Deepak Bansode (17), Salim Shaikh (17) and Pintu Pawar (16), all four residents of Pimpri, were injured seriously in the attack.

The suspects, have been identified as Ramdas Adagale, Santosh Pawar, Sandeep Pawar, Santu Adagale and Kiran Sonsale.

Doctors at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital said, "Nikalje's conditions is critical, as he has received deep wounds in his stomach. They were brought to the hospital around 11.40pm."

A friend of Nikalje, said, "The assailants belong to the Jaibharat Tarun Mandal in Pimpri while the injured are from the Azad Tarun Mandal." Sub-Inspector V D Dalvi said, "Two suspects Adagale and Pawar have been detained by police and a case will now be registered. Prima facie it seems to be fallout."
