On Saturday, May 10, this paper carried a front page report on how Monorail security guards have been provided with an outdated rifle musket the .410 to be precise to provide security to this fairly new arm of the city’s transport network.

The report stated that the Maharashtra State Security Corporation (MSSC) personnel deployed by the state home department to secure the Monorail have been armed with a weapon similar to the one used in the 1857 uprising. A musket is a muzzle-loaded firearm, which has to be fired from the shoulder.
