Yesterday, this editorial space highlighted the importance of clearing away fallen trees and broken tree branches. With so many trees falling across the city, roads and even by lanes are littered with fallen trees, with authorities lifting when possible or chopping the wood to cart it away.

This is done specifically because the collapsed trees are a roadblock and need to be moved to make way for vehicles. Foliage has been strewn on pavements too, impeding pedestrian mobility.
