The ugly and inane hoax threat reared its head once again with the Samta Nagar (Kandivli East) police arresting a 26-year-old food delivery partner from Kandivli East for allegedly sending a bomb threat message to the official Amarnath Yatra helpline. The message claimed an explosive had been planted along the pilgrimage route.
The accused sent the message in Hindi stating that a bomb would be planted while at his residence. The report said that the accused had sent this message ‘just for kicks’, not realising the consequences of posting this, or rather sending this to a helpline. The accused has been booked, with investigators saying the hoax message may trigger widespread panic and disrupt the Yatra.
