There is no end to the war of jurisdictions in the police force. On Wednesday, this newspaper reported about the plight of a 15-year-old mentally challenged girl who was gang-raped in the Churchgate subway in April 2014.

Waiting for justice, the girl, suffering from asthma lost her life while the Marine Drive police station and Churchgate GRP squabbled over the FIR, for almost a year. Even superiors were at loggerheads for not registering FIRs with their respective departments.
