<table style="width: 102px; height: 42px" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="102" align="right" border="1">  <tbody>  <tr>  <td><img alt="" src="/imagedata/2011/mar/Swara-Bhaskar.jpg" border="0" /></td></tr>  <tr>  <td>  <p align="center"><span style="font-size: 8pt">Swara Bhaskar</span></p></td></tr></tbody></table>I have grown up reading tales from the Arabian Nights and conjuring up wild fantasies of the desert and its people.<br /><br />So, when I got the chance to travel to the Gaza Strip using the land route recently, I grabbed the opportunity and joined the First Asian Solidarity Caravan.<br /><br />Touring Gaza via India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Syria, and Egypt to show political solidarity for Palestine was a wonderful experience. <br /><br />Along with activists, students and trade unions from 13 Asian countries, I became part of a convoy carrying one million dollars worth of medical aid to the besieged Gaza Strip. I'll cherish this experience throughout my life!
