Beijing: China's ruling Communist Party today expelled the chief of cash-rich Guangzhou city and sacked the rising star from his post for accepting huge bribes.
Wan Qingliang's removal from the party's membership will be confirmed in the upcoming plenary session of the Party's Central Committee, state-run Xinhua news agency reported. Wan, 50, was regarded as a rising star in the Communist Party of China (CPC).
