<div>Ten police officers were arrested Friday in the southern Argentine province of Chubut on charges of raping a 16-year-old boy, authorities said.</div><div><br /></div><div>The arrests of the officers followed an extensive investigation spurred by a complaint from the mother of the victim.</div><div><br /></div><div>The purported rape occurred Wednesday, when the teen was held for several hours after a street altercation with a female.</div><div><br /></div><div>"It is an aberrant event that is being investigated by prosecutor Maria Tolomei," provincial Attorney General Jorge Miquelarena told the official Telam news agency.</div>
