2,311 children reported to UK's anti-extremism programme

London: The number of young people being reported as potential extremists in the United Kingdom has almost doubled in a year, new figures showed yesterday.

A total of 4,611 people, half of them children and teens, have been flagged for possible intervention by UK government’s Channel programme to prevent them from falling prey to extremist ideology.
