A 90-year-old Berlin woman lashed out at a group of would-be thieves who had forced their way into her apartment Friday, driving the group out with a firm slap in the face, police reported.

The nonagenarian struck one of the trio, a woman, in the face and pushed one of the other two men out of her home, after they had asked for water and entered the apartment uninvited.

The trio fled. The lady was celebrating her 90th birthday when the incident happened. She was unharmed.
