China&rsquo;s BYD Yangwang U9 Xtreme redefining what an <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-best-takes-its-fleet-of-leased-ev-cars-off-the-roads-23587648" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">electric car</a> can do. Germany&rsquo;s Automotive Testing Papenburg has verified a blistering top speed of 308.4 mph (496.32 kmph), the highest ever recorded for a production car.
In doing so, the YangWang U9 Xtreme surpassed the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ record of 304.77 mph (490.48 kmph) set in 2019. BYD says production will be capped at just 30 units for buyers around the world.
