Crime-hit Detroit in the USA was voted the worst city, followed by Accra in Ghana, Seoul in South Korea and Los Angeles, USA by Lonely Planet.

The findings are based on travellers' feedback. Accra was described as "ugly, chaotic and sprawling" and Seoul had no heart or spirit.
Chennai was ranked seventh on the list because it was "lacking Mumbai's prosperity, Delhi's history or Bengaluru's buzz".
