US President Donald Trump on Thursday announced that the United States would deploy an additional 5,000 troops to Poland, days after the Pentagon delayed a previously planned troop deployment to the country.

Trump made the announcement in a post on Truth Social, linking the decision to Washington’s relationship with Polish President Karol Nawrocki, whom he had publicly endorsed during the election campaign.
