Donald Trump announces 25 percent tariff on EU cars, trucks

Donald Trump has announced plans to impose a 25pc tariff on cars and trucks imported from the European Union, citing non-compliance with a trade deal. He added that vehicles manufactured in the United States would be exempt, while highlighting ongoing investments in domestic auto production

US President Donald Trump posts on Truth Social, "I am pleased to announce that, based on the fact that the European Union is not complying with our fully agreed to Trade Deal, next week I will be increasing Tariffs charged to the European Union for Cars and Trucks coming into the United States. The Tariff will be increased to 25 percent.

It is fully understood and agreed that, if they produce Cars and Trucks in the U.S.A. Plants, there will be NO TARIFF.
