A tray of 12 mangoes have been auctioned for 50,000 Australian dollars for a charity at Brisbane markets in the country.
The dozen mangoes - costing 4,166.66 Australian dollars each - were purchased by Brisbane greengrocer Carlo Lorenti, AAP reported on Thursday. "We had a number of bidders and they pushed him up to the 50,000 dollars this year," Brisbane Markets spokeswoman Amy Kearns said.
