Elon Musk on Sunday urged the US administration to release the files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

“Seriously. He said ‘Epstein’ half a dozen times while telling everyone to stop talking about Epstein. Just release the files as promised,” Elon Musk wrote on X while replying to a user.

According to the AFP, US President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice and the FBI stated in a memo released last week that there was no evidence Epstein maintained a so-called “client list” or was blackmailing influential individuals.

They also rejected claims that Epstein was murdered in jail, confirming instead that he died by suicide in a New York prison in 2019, and announced that no further information on the investigation would be made public.

The decision was met with disbelief among sections of the American far-right -- many of whom have supported Trump for years -- and drew harsh criticism of Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel, as per the AFP.

“What’s going on with my ‘boys’ and, in some cases, ‘gals’? They’re all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a FANTASTIC JOB!” Trump wrote in a lengthy post on his Truth Social platform on Saturday.

“We’re on one team, MAGA, and I don’t like what’s happening. We have a PERFECT Administration, THE TALK OF THE WORLD, and ‘selfish people’ are trying to hurt it -- all over a guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein,” he added, referring to his “Make America Great Again” movement.

Many within the MAGA base have long claimed that so-called “Deep State” operatives are concealing information about Epstein’s high-profile associates.

“Next the DOJ will say ‘Actually, Jeffrey Epstein never even existed,’” raged pro-Trump conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on X (formerly Twitter) following the release of the memo. “This is over-the-top sickening,” reported the AFP.

Far-right influencer Laura Loomer called for US President Donald Trump to sack Bondi over the matter, labelling her “an embarrassment.”

However, Trump defended his attorney general on Saturday, suggesting that the so-called “Epstein Files” were a political hoax manufactured by the Democratic Party, though he did not elaborate on what political gains they were supposedly seeking.

Adopting a tone of frustration, Trump chastised his supporters for their fixation on the case.

“For years, it’s Epstein, over and over again,” he said. “Let’s... not waste time and energy on Jeffrey Epstein, someone nobody cares about.”

The US President Trump instead urged Patel and Bondi to redirect their attention to what he repeatedly claims was the “rigged and stolen election of 2020,” which he lost to Joe Biden, according to the AFP.

Trump has consistently pushed unfounded conspiracy theories alleging widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election.

He called for the FBI to be allowed to focus on investigating those claims, rather than “spending month after month looking at nothing but the same old, Radical Left-inspired documents on Jeffrey Epstein.” He added: “LET PAM BONDI DO HER JOB — SHE’S GREAT!”

Trump, who appears in at least one decades-old video alongside Epstein at a party, has denied any wrongdoing or direct association with the disgraced financier and insists he is not named in any of the documents.

“The conspiracy theories simply aren’t true -- they never have been,” said FBI Director Patel on Saturday, hours before Trump’s post.

However, reports suggest not everyone in the administration shares that view.

US media reported that Dan Bongino --a prominent right-wing podcast host and Trump appointee as FBI Deputy Director -- had allegedly threatened to resign over the administration’s handling of the matter, the news agency reported on Sunday.
