He was convicted after a 10-month trial in a special court.</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   u00a0</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   The judge suspended the session as shouting and scuffles erupted in court just as the verdict was read out.</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   u00a0</div>  <div id="cke_pastebin">   Mubarak, who ruled the country for 30 years, faced a possible death sentence over the killing of about 850 protesters by security forces last year.</div>  

Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, who was facing trial on charges of corruption and abuse of power, was sentenced to life imprisonment.
