Iran’s offer to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days remains on the table, according Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said. Iran submitted the proposal in September following a collapsed ceasefire, but negotiations have stalled due to unresolved US conditions.

Iran’s demands require Washington to lift the US port blockade, remove oil export sanctions, and end hostilities across regional fronts. Araqchi stated that if the US accepts these terms, the vital waterway—which previously carried a fifth of global oil and LNG trade—could reopen within six days, followed by resumed talks.
