Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated on Monday that the responsibility for advancing negotiations lies entirely with the US, reiterating Iran’s demand for an end to the US naval blockade before the Strait of Hormuz can be reopened or secured.
He emphasised that Tehran evaluates Washington based on concrete actions rather than rhetoric, addressing a recent diplomatic letter sent by US Vice President JD Vance to Mohsen Razaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. Baghaei said that Razaei will decide on an official response as he sees fit.
