Jamaat-ud-Dawah chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, the mastermind of the Mumbai attacks, has virtually been placed under house arrest in this eastern Pakistani city.

While media reports claimed he has been placed under house arrest, a senior police official said only restrictions have been put on Saeed's movement and that he has been barred from leading Eid prayers at the Gaddafi Stadium.
