Kim Jong-un, the youngest son of late North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il, has been officially declared the supreme commander of the armed forces, South Korea's Yonhap news agency reported on Saturday.u00a0<div><br /></div><div>"The political bureau of the central committee of the Workers' Party proclaimed that the dear respected Kim Jong-un, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK, assumed the supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army",u00a0</div><div><br /></div><div>Pyongyang's official news agency KCNA said. North Korea just ended a mourning period for Kim Jong-Il, who died on December 17 following a heart attack.u00a0        </div>
